Bat for Lashes

So I am officially back from vacation! I seriously thought I would have an awesome post with tons of pictures, but I really wasn't feeling it AT ALL down there. Sometimes I take too many pictures on trips, sometimes none. Sorry guys this time was the latter! I figured before I do another outfit post (and because I want to color my hair first!), I'd mix it up a little bit. Today I wanted to do a post about the fabulous Natasha Khan of Bat for Lashes. Seriously, she is amazing. I don't listen to really any girl bands, but she comes close to topping my Last.FM account. (Click that link to see what I'm listening too!)

Not only is Natasha Khan an extremely talented girl who does it all, she is so exotically pretty and stylish. I really envy her style. (Her and Zooey Deschanel really convinced me to have some awesome full bangs!) I can't describe it but, I feel as though I could never pull off her cool vibe so well as she does. And on the plus side her music is so dark and complex it really makes me want to live in a tiny dark wood cabin and make potions and cover everything with glitter. (Yes in other words her music makes me wish I was a old witch in the woods..)

And my favorite song by her for good measure-

Side Walk When She Walks

Hi guys! So something crazy happened here in NJ, we got another heat wave! It seriously has been pants, tights, possible cardigan weather (Not all together of course (;), but just the other day I opened the door to let my dog out and it was HOT. It's kind of sad, since I was getting so excited for Fall and it's like Summer came back and hit me in the face. Oh well, Fall and I will be united soon enough I supposed.

Oh! and as you may have noticed! (If you haven't visited since last post!) I have a new layout. I was going for a classy French carnival type of ordeal. I'm in love!

Dress- Fossil ; Belt- Charlotte Russe ; Shoes- Kohls

So I have a funny story (not really funny but!) about this dress! I bought it a couple of years ago, but before that I saw it and loved it. Except it was pricey. Like $60-$70 I didn't have in high school pricey. For my birthday that year I got a giftcard from my good friend Lauren for $20 to Fossil. And even though I really appreciated it, I mean $20 to Fossil? I can't even buy a ring for that without spending extra money. So I just held onto the giftcard and one time when I was at the mall this dress was on sale, for you guessed it- $20! In my size! I think we were meant to be!

I'm actually really excited for next week! Last minute Brian and I (and his mom!) decided to go down to LBI! He's gone down to his Nana's house down there since he was really little and knows all the nifty little food places, shops, and all that stuff! I can not wait to lie on the beach and go in the ocean with Brian! It makes me feel a little more okay with it still being summer!

I also wanted to say hi to all my new followers! Though I haven't been posting as frequently I seem to have had a large sum follow me in the past few days. Thank you guys so much

Have a great weekend everyone!

Born and Raised

Hi guys. No I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. I don't have any fancy excuses or apologies really. I just kind of needed a break. You all have to know how much I love and appreciate every one of you and how you've been making my blog (and creativity!) bloom. But I have been not only in an outfit rut, but just general rut lately. I really don't want to get too personal (I'm fine, don't worry!), but I really needed a break to do just try to do some things that keep me less stressed than most (aka hanging out with Brian, wearing yoga pants all the time, playing addicting video games yada yada). I hope you all understand this, and I promise that I will try to start posting more regularly once I start class again. I feel like then I will have a set schedule and outfit pics and blogging with be able to fit in seamlessly. For now you're going to have to deal with my sporadic-ness!

Okay. Enough serious stuff. Here's an outfit post!

Dress- Francesca's Collection ; Belt & Shoes- Charlotte Russe ; Socks- Kohls ; Necklace- Thrifted

I was seriously excited when I found this dress at Francesca's. I've seen it on Modcloth before, and even in the Francesca's store, but by the time I decided that I really wanted it- it was all gone. Now usually Francesca's doesn't restock items (they are usually only sent once in a couple sizes and that's it!), but by some miracle it was there yesterday when I went to the mall with Brian. Soo lucky!

Brian and I are having a garage sale this weekend and I'm so excited. I've never had a garage sale before. I really think it's going to be awesome to see people happy to take buy the things that I no longer wanted, because I love doing the same in turn. So far Brian has rounded up a ton of stuff from his house and today (and tomorrow!) we are gathering stuff from mine. Wish us luck that we do really well !! We really need some extra money to put to the side for our apartment next year! (:

Hi guys! I really hope you notice the difference in my photos today... I seriously took so much extra effort to try to get them the best quality I could- because to be honest for a while I didn't know what I was doing when it came to putting up pictures! Haha. I hope all that work wasn't in vain!

Dress & Belt- Charlotte Russe ; Tights & Shoes- Kohls

Brian and I went to Lafyette Village again today, for these pictures, a little yummy food and some good ole' antiquing. I was excited to finally wear this dress, since it's one of my favorites, and I wear it a lot actually although you have never seen it here!

This picture is for Amanda, who I think can understand/laugh at this one!

I really have to thank all of you too for how sweet you are. Really. Your comments put such a huge smile on my face, you're so overly nice too me. I really love every one of you!

Quick post today since My mom, brother, Brian and I are going to see Dinner for Schmucks soon. I hope it's as hilarious as Steve Carrell leads it on to be!
