Millstone

Hi everyone! I've been pretty absent from here this week, since for the most part my week wasn't the best, but Brian sure made up for it with our activities today! (And his overall sweetness!)

Tuesday Brian and I hung out all day by my pool for the first time all summer. (I know it's almost August...) Since we are both really really fair skinned, even though we were both wearing sunblock- we burnt really bad. I had work that night and it was the most miserable thing ever. With every movement I felt my bra straps ripping and burning my skin.

Wednesday morning I had work again. Basically went home to sleep then came right back. Not only was I still very painfully burnt, I had an awful day at work. I have been there for 3 years and I still get yelled at and reprimanded for every little thing. I know it's not just me and it happens to everyone there, but for some reason Wednesday it really got to me and when Brian came to pick me up I just started bawling my eyes out. When I got home I had a cat scarf and my bag from ShopDixi.com I had been waiting a month for waiting by my garage. That cheered me up a tiny bit. Brian and I then watched Pretty Little Liars and I had some ice cream on a warm cookie. Eventually by the end of the night I was feeling much much better thanks to Brian's utter baby-ing of me. (He's sooo sweet to me when I'm feeling upset, not that he isn't normally so sweet!) Thursday Brian played guitar with his friend, and I didn't see him until 7 and then I worked on my quilt the rest of the night.

But today was our day to spend together, antiquing and going to a cafe!

Dress- Kohls ; Tights- Bakers ; Oxfords- Urban Outfitters ; Scarf- Modcloth ; Bag- Shopdixi.com ; Necklace- Made by me

I had so much fun today with Brian! We went to a cafe called The Gristmill and had frozen chocolate chais with our meals. I had a grilled chicken panini with cheddar jack cheese and lime dressing on whole wheat. (It was amazing!) We then walked to a few antique stores close by and I found an owl necklace, really nice iron bird trivet, and an amazing old birdcage music box. (You have to see it to know what I mean!) We also scored an awesome deal at Marshalls and got a $25 beautiful bowl set for my cat for only $12.99 because of an error with their price tags. Yes!!

I think I nearly died when I saw this scarf on Modcloth. The first thing I thought is "No way did they mix classy floral with whimsical black cats." But oh they did. Brian being the sweetheart he is ordered me this right away!

Yay for sunburn and peeling noses!

So the Alexa bag that has been topping everyones wishlist was also topping mine, though there is NO WAY I would ever ever be able to afford one. I have been trying so hard (you have no idea!) to find something similar for much cheaper elsewhere, and when I found this bag on Shopdixi.com for only $50 I ordered it straight away. Even my mom says how similar they look!

Lastly these oxfords are ones I have been wanting for over a year. My mom decided to order them for me since she was so proud of me getting on the Deans List in college. Yay for being studious!! Though they are so fall-eqsue (as is my whole outfit), I couldn't wait to wear them. I think everyone will understand when I say I am dying to wear fall attire already!

It's Cold in the Shade. Let's Move to the Sun...

Firstly, a quick apology. Photobucket obviously can not handle the size of my blog (which isn't even that big!) But yet until August some of my images may be crappy blue boxes. Re-uploading them elsewhere and having to repost them all would be tedious and not worth it, so please bare with me as my blog goes through it's awkward phase heehee.

I am sooo excited to share these images (and outfit!) with you today since my dad found my Paint Shop Pro disc! My parents have been redoing my office downstairs and my dad finally found my disc he lost a while ago, so I could upload it onto my new computer (Yayy!!) That and the fact that we got to take these pictures in a beautiful field of sunflowers. Though it looks like we were so secluded, it's been quite the hotspot for pictures lately (and you'll see why!)

Dress- H&M ; Belt & Necklace- Mom's ; Clogs- DSW

After taking these pictures today, Brian and I went to this really adorable little candy store called "Nutty about Sweets" Heehee. It was awesome. There were those containers all along the walls that pour out all different sorts of neat candies! (Wish I brought my camera in!) We got yogurt and chocolate covered raisins, chocolate covered banana chips, and assortment of yummy gummy sharks and fruits!

I was so excited when I found this dress, since my mom had given me a dress of hers to return and let me keep the money to get a dress for myself. I found this at H&M and there was only one left, and I was immediately drawn to how simple yet pretty it was. I can only dream of how I can wear this in every season! (and it has sleeveeesss!)

These are my new clogs! Yay I'm finally buying more and more new shoes. I am so excited about these since they are stylish but not way too high of a heel. For some reason I just feel weird wearing heels everyday.

Brian told me I should put the caption "If only they had feathers.." under here and I said "No way, that's super corny!" But alas I've posted it anyway since he is toooo cute (:

Also according to Random.org, the winner of my giveaway is...

#9 Bee!!

Congratulations! I'll be emailing you asap!

Cats as a Measurement of Time

Today Brian and I took a spur of the moment trip down to Montclair, NJ. This was mainly because our local comic book store didn't have the comic Brian was looking for- which led to travelling to a much bigger one further away. This in turn brought me to Urban Outfitters, which is always located there. (PHEW) I found sooo many fabulous things there, but having no money I decided to put on my blinders and head straight for the sales section. Which is where I found this amazing little dress for only $20! And it has little cat faces all over it! I think I nearly about died....

Dress & Bandeau- Urban Outfitters ; Tights- Kohls ; Shoes- Wet Seal

Brian and I also headed over to a frozen yogurt place called Red Mango for the first time. We had pomegranate frozen yogurt with dark chocolate chips and it was AMAZING. (Seriously fruit and chocolate you can't go wrong...)

Kinda short post today, I'm off to try to make macarons with my friend tonight! (I recently purchased the book I Love Macarons). I can't wait to show you (IF they come out good (:) the super adorable things we make!! Have a great day everyone!

Also, Don't forget to enter my giveaway!

EDIT
***Photobucket decided to kill my photos- I'm sorry if a bunch of blue boxes showed up on you and that this is having to be republished because of it. SIGH. Well I guess it's back to Blogger uploader for me.***

Giveaway Time: From me to you!

I'm so very excited to give you guys my first giveaway! I decided since I love you all so much I would give you a couple of things from me, something old and something new:

First is this brand new bottle of Limited Edition Essie nail polish (Turquoise & Caicos). I picked it up just for you guys... I mean who doesn't like teals and mint colors?!

Second is this really pretty H&M dress I picked up a couple years ago, but have not worn even once. Why? I really have no idea how to wear it. It was home on a mannequin in my room for a while (and everyone loved it) and so I am now passing it on to a home that will love and and wear it in the most fashionable ways! This dress is a size 4 but will fit like S/M.

To enter this giveaway:

1. You must follow this blog. (Click the follow button to your left!)
2. Leave a comment telling me how you would style this dress! (Only comment if your entering!!)

This giveaway will run for a week until Sunday @ Midnight.

This giveaway is only open to residents of the US (Sorry International readers D: )

Caterpillar Playground

So I thought I'd start this post off with a sort of apology. I've been a pretty crappy blogger lately. Not only in the posting area- but in the getting back to you guys and networking one too. I have barely gotten a chance to get on here- and when I do, not all of the posts from the people I follow show up. It's wacky, but I'm going to try a lot harder to get back to you guys, so don't think I've become snobby or am ignoring any of you! And because I have been crappy lately I decided next week I'll do a special giveaway for you guys, so stop by sometime early next week to enter my first giveaway, from me to you!

Okay, enough with the sappy stuff. (: So today I finally wore a dress I have had in my closet for a long time but never styled (The front part is low and I was having a hard time figuring out how to fix that...). I really felt like I was channeling my inner
Amanda, from the Upside of Wonder when I paired this dress with a cute shirt. I was pretty happy with my ability to dress it down, that I threw on a pair of Keds and went to the playground with Bri for these photos (Yay for swings!!)

T-Shirt- Kohls ; Dress- Marshalls ; Shoes- Keds ; Necklaces- Charlotte Russe & Claires

Yes, those are little kittens on my necklace. My crazy cat lady is showing! Besides this necklace being cats, I've had this baby since I believe I was maybe 2 or 3? (It used to be a lot longer on me (:). My mom used to be a manager of a store in a mall, and there was a Claires there, and she would always bring me home cute little pieces of jewelry! I love that I can still wear this one!

I feel like I don't talk about Brian on here nearly as much as I should- so here it goes. Brian is just too darn cute. Of course after I get off the swings he hops right on and tries to kiss me everytime he swings up near me. Note to readers- do not try this at home. Haha it was only a mess of "THIS IS A BAD IDEA!" and "OW!" But he's super cute so I won't hold it against him (:

As for the quilt status... Voila I have 3 of these squares done in total. Only 12 more (o___o). But so far I am really happy with the looks! It has such a pleasant French Country feel to it I can't wait to use it on my bed! Speaking of, as a challenge to push myself to clean my room.. (Little known fact, I'm kinda messy, I guess that comes with being an artist!) I hope to have my room impeccable by the time the quilt is done so I can show you the quilt along with my room (because it really is decorated nice minus the messiness!)

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

A Spindle, A Darkness, A Fever, And a Necklace

So today Brian and I may or may not have trespassed to get these pictures... It was done with good intentions though right? Hah. I suppose standing outfront of somewhere and taking outfit pictures isn't really trespassing, but it still felt exciting and rebellious (I'm a dork..). I couldn't believe I hadn't thought of taking pictures here before, since it's such a hidden yet spectacular place. To be honest noone really knows what the massive building is, but my dad likes to call it the X-MEN school for mutants building (Or whatever that place is called in the comics.) I think it was an old Abbey, but none-the less it's like a castle! ( Wish I got a full picture of the whole thing.. D: )

Dress- Charlotte Russe ; Tights- No idea... ; Shoes- Target ; Belt- Mom's ; Necklaces- Charlotte Russe, Betsey Johnson, & My Great Aunt's

And just because last post I know you were missing my floral sleeved dresses so much... (hahaha..) here is my latest addition to my dress collection. I actually think it was supposed to be a long babydoll tunic, but honestly I think it's better as a dress, and for $22 I was sold!

I don't know it you can tell but I recently died my hair, and after editing these pictures it really looks like my hair is much lighter on top than the bottom... I used dark brown color and it looks almost red ontop... Oh well, I suppose it doesn't look TOO bad..

And lastly- this is the state of my craft area as of now. Pretty much almost all my pieces are cut out for the quilt! (A LOT OF PIECES...) I have put a good few hours into just the cutting so by the time I finish I will be so overly happy it will probably be disgusting haha!

Have a great day everyone... I'm off to cut more pieces of fabric and hopefully start some sewing!
